Shop The Look: An Effortless Night Stand

During the design phase of our most recent interior design project in New York City, we were under the direction of our client to follow a pretty tight budget. This is not a new task for us and certainly understand in a market of NYC apartments that are just drowning residents with rent! So for our collaboration with Foodie Blogger and Dietician, The Whole Tara, we kept the styling of her new Upper East Side apartment simple but sweet.

The interior design concept in Tara’s new digs was Parisian Chic so to attain this look and feel, we opted for decorative accents in copper and gold tones to balance well with all of the crisp white and to keep the lines and shapes geometric for visual fun but also clean and simple.

Tara was also really excited to start fresh in this apartment so we did not want to overwhelm her with pretty stuff. Every design accent serves a functional purpose to Tara’s busy, blogger lifestyle.

Follow these three easy steps to achieve the perfect Parisian Night stand Styling:

Break out the Arm Candy

Start with a base, the Night Stand

Since we chose a white upholstered bed and white bedding for Tara’s bedroom, we needed to introduce an element of mirror for the ultimate chic effect, like the Jacqueline Nightstand from Joss & Main.

Store Your Jewelry

Tara is constantly on-the-go and jewelry is a big part of her #OOTD so it was important to store jewelry in a way that was easy for her to see what she has and easy to grab! We love the Golden Glass Shadow Box Collection from West Elm because you can stack the two sizes on the nightstand to add height.

Add a Candle

Creating a relaxing space was essential to Tara so incorpoprating a candle into her every day night stand display was a no-brainer:

Flowers Complete the Look

I always encourage my clients to add fresh flowers or greenery to their nightstand when possible but of course, this can become time consuming and expensive but good thing the faux flower market has some great options!
